Why
More than 5,000 people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in British Columbia are looking for homes.
Housing is a human right.
Housing is not just a basic need but a critical determinant of health.
Inclusive housing:
provides a sense of home and belonging;
is safe, accessible and affordable;
provides individuals with choice and control over day to day decisions and with supports that meet their disability specific needs; and
promotes independence, dignity, quality of life and inclusion for individuals to participate as full citizens in their neighbourhood.
