Victoria Folk Music Society weekly gathering: Everyone—welcome Jam at 6:45pm, Open Stage at 7:30pm, Feature Performers Shelley & Doug at 9:00pm; Friendship Hall (formerly Norway House) 1110 Hillside Avenue, $8 cash at the door
Shelley & Doug Thorsteinson are a versatile Vancouver Island–based musical duo known for their warm harmonies, engaging stage presence, and multi-instrumental talents. Blending folk, pop, and Celtic influences, they create a rich and varied sound that appeals to a wide range of audiences.
Their performances feature acoustic guitars and low D whistle, bringing a unique and memorable element to their shows. Whether performing in intimate coffee shops, at community events and special occasions, or at larger venues as Shelley, Doug & Friends, they deliver music with authenticity, humour, and a genuine connection to their audience!
