details
Recently relocated from Calgary Alberta, Morley T is a songwriter-performer who plays several instruments and sings pop, country-blues and jazz reaching from the forties into the new century in a rich, agile baritone.
Since 1988, he has faced audiences from the stages of university ballrooms, theatres, art shows, night clubs and rural festivals – both in groups and ensembles and solo performances. He was among the street-performers who carried Calgary's Electric Avenue through the nineties. He has also worked as a stage and sound technician for several venues and festivals, and was among the curators of the performance portion of Calgary's 1111 Art Exhibition in 2009.
He now lives in Nanaimo, enjoying the climate without the bustle of his childhood home in Victoria. His interest in technology has led him to begin exploring the potential of looping in live-performance, while seeking to limit the kit to what he can carry. “My back and knees aren't what they were, but I've commuted on bicycles for most of the last ten years. What if we all get stuck with that? The show must go on.” With this view, his current catalog of self-produced recordings is growing into a dance between traditional music styles and modern ways of building grooves and tapestries of lyric and sound.
For physical events that happen at a specific time. For example a concert, or dance performance. If there are multiple shows, you can still duplicate your event to cover them all.
