Well if you missed this show at Logan's then you absolutely missed out! The night started out with Bronze. These guys are so heavy they make anyone get their groove on... their stage show has come a long long way, Do not miss them the next time they play Victoria! Next up, Gashly Crumb. Now I've seen them at Logan's before and tonight was again a good show of the talent these guys have to offer. Not as many G.C fans as the last time but in all, A for effort. And ofcourse, the almight TEN MILES WIDE. From Vancouver, this heavy trio rocked the night away, Most impressive was the female drummer ripping shit up! So, if you see Ten Miles Wide posted anywhere for a gig in Vic, you MUST check 'em out! Over and out, M. - Sat, 24 Apr 2004 11:47pm

Good review! But here's my take. Bronze, AWESOME as per usual. Then Gashly take the stage, it was good but could be better (they can't figure out Anti-Conceivable, a key track), then Six Miles Wide take the stage, I was very impressed. All in all, it was worth it! - Sun, 25 Apr 2004 12:11am

yes.. agreed, those who missed this show did miss out. bronze was nice and rockin..(worthy of starfleet uniforms mabye even...) really enjoyed the slower dissonant riffs.. good song writing.. nice people.. good opening band. gastly crumb was relaly not my thing.. they were good at what they did it seemed though.. ten miles wide from vancouver were fucking excellent. some of the best riffs that have graced logans stage in a while for me. really good sound for them last night... i love the drumming.. so simple and powerful. hopefully they come back soon.. does anyone know if bronze has anything recorded?? - Sun, 25 Apr 2004 9:47am

I thought Ten Miles Wide were pretty good. So I just checked out their web site. If I didn't know that these guys were good, there is no way I'd go to one of their shows. The website looks like crap. You guys need to put a bit more effort into some sort of an interesting layout and graphics. Usually if a band is playing that I haven't heard of, I'll check out their website. If it looks proffessional, or has some good songs that I can sample for free, I'll go to the show. If not, I won't put the effort in to go down and see a band that can't put the effort in themselves to make a half decent web site. I know websites and music don't go hand in hand, but it does display a certain level of proffessionalism. But regardless of the website, I'll definately be at your next Victoria show. - Sun, 25 Apr 2004 12:05pm

kincrumb sounds a little jealous of ten miles wide (or as drunk midgets call them: Six Miles Wide). was it that they blew you out of the water musically? or was it that they brought back the majority of the audience your discount marilyn manson vocalist scared off? i heard about this show from a friend of an enemy and i was told that the second band should have been opening and that the mustard seed marilyn manson was acting like quite the rock star, traipsing around the bar and shoving people out of the way with nary an "excuse me" or even a tap on the shoulder.
as far as professional looking websites go, before you critique ten miles wide's value coupon website, you should have the gashly crummy webmaster do a spell-check on your website. - Sun, 25 Apr 2004 2:37pm

Bronze and Ten Miles Wide were both awesome. Thanks for coming out guys. I know Bronze is working on getting a cd together which should be pretty killer, based on their live show.

Griphin - Dylan maybe didn't explain to you that the song you're thinking about was called something else; the mp3 you heard had been mislabelled.

The Gashly Crumb website was designed by Jesse Ladret (www.brandxmedia.ca). The spelling seems fine

jesse labrat, you are truly a gracious gentleman in the face of having your lack of grasp on the english language exposed. at least you know quality posting when you see it.

Jesse Labrat. Boy is my face red! That'll teach me to make a spelling error. Thanks again for bringing your vast level of insight and scathing commentary to the forefront, but I'm not exactly sure what this has to do with a show review. - Sun, 25 Apr 2004 6:14pm

Ten Miles Wide are making my life ten times more difficult, because now I will be compelled to spend all my money on their merchandise & follow them around when they tour. It's sad, really. Life is so much simpler when you are under the impression that there are no dynamic, killer bands around. And then you go out one night and unexpectedly get your mind blown.

*sigh* Oh! The complicated issues that face the music-loving people!

Let me discuss the drumming, as it was already mentioned, and I had some moments of pure bliss just watching some of the most intelligent whacking I have witnessed in ages.

I was struck by the lovely and talented TMW drummer's unique style, and I noticed the same thing with Bronze, too. Drummers who don't use the snare as some sort of rhythmic life support system. It's not the only thing on a kit that makes sounds, so it's refreshing to see some innovative approaches that add interest and dimension to the music. And the big old cymbal drills make me pretty fucking happy, too.

The singer from TMW reminded me of Neil Fallon during his "bushman" phases. That is a good thing.

Bronze kicked all manner of ass, and it was great to see them again. Can't wait to hear that new cd!

Superior night of the rocking. - Mon, 26 Apr 2004 2:45pm

Hey Ten Miles Wide was cool, because originally I was planning to leave early cause I felt like shit, and thought i was gonna puke back a beer, but the durmmer from TMW asked me if I was gonna stay around for their set, so I decided to, yeah solid playing, I was impressed, too bad the bassist's bass crapped out on him around 5 to 1.

But i was REALLY impressed by Bronze, wow got me excited, not a bad song in their set, cool they got a second guitarist, really adds to their sound!!!

Kyle: Track mislabelled?!? But the only track I grabbed was from Brand X Media, so I dunno. - Sun, 2 May 2004 12:03am
