I need to grey out the "disable" network option in windows XP. Right click on Network connections and the options are "Disable/status/repair etc..".

It can NEVER EVER EVER EVER be selected via VNC or any other option. Cheers, Lucius - Tue, 26 Oct 2010 2:14pm

In the properties for active network connections, uncheck "Show icon in notification area when connected."

Remove access to the Control Panel: http://www.lockergnome.com/it/2006/03/16/disable-the-control-panel-2kxp2003/

Disable access to the task manager: http://www.windowsnetworking.com/kbase/WindowsTips/WindowsXP/UserTips/Customization/EnableDisableTaskManagerinWindowsXPHomePro.html

Remove all references to Network Connections from the Start Menu.

That might work. - Tue, 26 Oct 2010 2:39pm

I just found a solution via the Group Policy edit (gpedit) but thanks for the help! I appreciate the effort. Cheers, Lucius - Tue, 26 Oct 2010 3:54pm
